Meet Maggie McDermott, a member of the Virginia Tech class of 2013 majoring in human nutrition, foods, and exercise within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. This summer, Maggie received a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship from the Fralin Life Science Institute. It meant giving up her last summer as an undergrad, but it was a unique and valuable opportunity that she couldn’t pass up.
In this video, Maggie talks a bit about her research and shares her enthusiasm and gratitude for the donor-supported SURF program.
